Casablanca: Police Shootings to Neutralize a Dangerous Offender

A police officer working in Rahma Security District in Casablanca was forced to use his weapon, early Friday morning, during a security intervention to arrest a person with a case law. The latter was in a state of strong impulsiveness. He exposed citizens and police officers to a serious and dangerous assault using a white arm.

Police patrol intervened to arrest the suspect who was under drug influence and threatened passers-by with a knife, before confronting security officers violently with a white arm. By reason of this, the police officer was forced to use his weapon and shoot twice; the first one was a warning, the second hit the thigh, according to a statement from the Directorate General of National Security.

The statement added that this use of the weapon enabled the 27-year-old suspect to be neutralized, as he was transferred to the local hospital where he received the necessary treatments, before keeping him under the research carried out by the supervision of public prosecutor, in order to reveal the circumstances and backgrounds of this case.
