MAScIR and Canadian University of Moncton Sign a Protocol of Understanding to Strengthen Scientific Exchange

On Tuesday, March 2nd, the Moroccan Foundation for Advanced Sciences, Innovation and Research (MAScIR) and the Canadian University of Moncton signed a protocol of understanding to promote cooperation and strengthen scientific and research exchanges.


On Tuesday, March 2nd, the Moroccan Foundation for Advanced Sciences, Innovation and Research (MAScIR) and the Canadian University of Moncton signed a protocol of understanding to promote cooperation and strengthen scientific and research exchanges.


This agreement was signed by the President of Moncton University, Dr. Denis Prud’homme, and the Director General of the Moroccan Foundation for Advanced Science, Innovation and Research, Nawal Chraibi, during a virtual ceremony attended by the Moroccan Ambassador to Ottawa, Souriya Otmani, and the Canadian Ambassador to Rabat, Neil Stewart.

The two parties agreed, in particular, to carry out joint activities related to scientific research and development, exchange academic visits between researchers, and jointly organize international conferences and seminars.

This protocol, which extends for a period of five years, entered into force as soon as it was signed.

On this occasion, Otmani emphasized that this type of international partnership, which includes various forms of cooperation in the field of research and scientific development, contributes thanks to its content to the consolidation of “cultural and scientific cooperation between Morocco and Canada, which has witnessed remarkable progress.”

The Moroccan diplomat added that this agreement comes at a time when Morocco has appointed Donald Arseneault as Honorary Consul of the Kingdom in Fredericton, with the aim of developing cooperation and strengthening friendly relations between the Kingdom and the province of New Brunswick.

Otmani, who believes that higher education is a fundamental lever for advancing economic and social development of youth and society in general, praised the two institutions’ conclusion of this protocol, which embodies their will to formalize their cooperation, whether in terms of ideas or action.
