Moroccan Intelligence Services Prevent “ISIS” Terrorist Attack Targeting France Church

Moroccan General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST) provided critical leads for the French Directorate General for External and Internal Security (DGSE – DGSI) on April 1st, about a French Citizen from Moroccan origins who was intending to perform a terrorist act targeting a Church in France.

According to official spokesman of DGST, special French authorities, based on provided Moroccan leads, succeeded in preventing a terrorist attack on the nights of April 3rd, 4th.

The same source further added that within the same framework, the early provided leads allowed French authorities to recognize the personal and electronic identification of the suspect as well as the terrorist act that was being planned in association with “ISIS” terrorist group.

The Moroccan DGST report provided detailed data to French authorities about the level of extremism the suspect reached, especially that she was close to enacting terrorist murder operations mimicking the “ISIS” terrorist acts she follows on her electronic devices.

Moroccan DGST official spokesman pointed out that providing such critical data to French authorities is part of Morocco’s involvement in the International Cooperation in the fight against terrorist groups and establishing peace and stability in both countries. In addition to that, improving the bilateral cooperation between Morocco’s DGST and French Surveillance authorities in the domain of counter terrorism under the rising terrorist threats targeting peace and security of citizens of both countries.
