Through a government statement relating to the latest developments in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, Morocco reaffirms its firm and clear position, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of al-Quds Committee, in support and advocacy of the Palestinian cause, and its adherence to the establishment of an independent and fully sovereign Palestinian state with al-Quds al-Sharif as its capital.

In the same context, Ismael Haniyeh, Head of Hamas Political Bureau, noted, during a phone call with Head of Moroccan Government, Saad Dine El Otmani, that “Morocco places the issue of al-Quds and the Palestinian cause in the rank of its national cause.”

For his part, the Head of Government informed Haniyeh of Morocco’s categorical rejection of all measures affecting the legal status of al-Aqsa Mosque and Al-Quds Al-Sharif, or affecting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, expressing in this regard the Kingdom’s support for the efforts made towards Palestinian reconciliation.
