US Consul General: Morocco-US relations… A “Very Promising” Future
The American diplomat highlighted that Morocco-US relations are more than two hundred years old, recalling in this regard that Morocco was the first country in the world to recognize the United States independence.
Lawrence Randolph, Consul General of the United States in Casablanca, said that the future of relations between the United States of America and the Kingdom of Morocco is “very promising.”
In a press statement on the occasion of the commemoration of the 15th anniversary of the free trade agreement between Morocco and the United States in Casablanca, Randolph described the bilateral relations as “historic, very ancient and deep”, noting that his presence in Morocco represented an opportunity for him to work with his American and Moroccan colleagues to advance cooperation between the two countries.
In a related context, the American diplomat highlighted that Morocco-US relations are more than two hundred years old, recalling in this regard that Morocco was the first country in the world to recognize the United States independence, and “this is something very important for us”.
For his part, the Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy in Morocco, David Greene, confirmed during this ceremony that the size of trade exchanges between Morocco and the United States had multiplied five times since 2005, i.e. the year before the entry into force of the free trade agreement between the two countries, reaching $5 billion in 2019.
