Marrakech: The Moulay El Hassan esplanade inaugurated

The first phase of the Esplanade Moulay El Hassan was inaugurated on Saturday in the wintering district, adding to Marrakech’s infrastructure dedicated to leisure, relaxation, and entertainment. The project “Marrakech, City of Permanent Renewal” required a total investment of 53.9 million DH, with the General Directorate of Territorial Communities (DGCT) contributing 42.5 million DH, the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports contributing 10 million DH, and the urban municipality of Marrakech contributing 1.4 million DH.

The opening ceremony for this venue took conducted as part of Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan’s 19th birthday celebrations. This green and ecological zone, which serves as the city’s “lung,” spans 17 hectares. With a width of 200 meters, this space spans over 2 kilometers between Mamounia and Menara, with special emphasis paid to accessibility for individuals with limited mobility.
