Moroccan Defender Nayef Aguerd joins West Ham from Rennes

Nayef Aguerd, a Moroccan international, has officially signed with English Premier League team West Ham United, the club confirmed today.

The English club made the announcement via social media, putting an end to weeks of rumors over Aguerd’s potential new club.

The East London club, known as “The Hammers,” uploaded a video in honor of the Moroccan center-long-awaited back’s arrival. Aguerd was enthusiastically greeted by many West Ham supporters, who expressed their desire to see the Moroccan center-back live up to the expectation that he would complete the team’s defensive line.

The Moroccan center-back has been widely linked with a transfer to West Ham United of England in recent weeks. The East London club had been keeping a close eye on Aguerd for the majority of the previous few months and had frequently expressed their desire to sign the Moroccan defender.

Several rumours suggested that the 26-year-old defender was about to start a new journey in the English Premier League as he declared last week that he was leaving the French team Rennes FC.

Fabrizio Romano, an Italian journalist and expert on the transfer market, stated yesterday that West Ham United and the Moroccan center-back had already achieved a complete understanding and that the official signing would be made public soon.

Aguerd played two exceptional seasons with the Rennes team in the French League 1 and made 40 appearances in all competitions last season before his now-settled transfer to the English club.

His solid performances won over Rennes fans, many of whom would want the Moroccan center-back to stay a bit longer with the French club.

The Moroccan player, though, seemed prepared to start out on a new adventure. Aguerd seemed to be looking for a new experience — and new difficulties — even though he was content with his time at Rennes and the memories he would leave behind.

The center-back expressed his sincere appreciation for the supporters’ unwavering support and the club’s leadership’s faith in him in his final letter to them. He made a point of stating that Rennes will always have a special place in his heart.
