Launch of 9th Annual High-Level Seminar (Oran) on Promotion of Peace and Security in Africa, with the participation of Morocco

The Launch of the ninth high-level symposium on “Peace and Security in Africa,” which included Morocco as a participant, got underway in the Algerian city of Oran.

The Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Morocco to the African Union and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa serves as the Chair of the Ambassador. Mohamed Arouchi is the representative of Morocco at this conference.

Its work will be concentrated on “Imposing and Implementing Sanctions by Organizations and Partners on African,” “African Responses to Emerging Threats to Peace and Security on the Continent: Addressing the Scourge of Terrorism and Violent Extremism in Africa,” and “Disarmament and Control of the Proliferation of Illicit Small Arms and Light Weapons: Silencing the Firearms in Africa.” Members of the Union.

The Kingdom of Morocco’s continued commitment to an Africa that enjoys peace, stability, and prosperity is reflected in its participation in this symposium, which marks the conclusion of Morocco’s efforts on the continent for peace, security, and sustainable development.

Morocco has made a constructive contribution to enhancing the working procedures of the Peace and Security Council of the African Union and to promoting best practices in the work of the Union since its return to the African Union in January 2017.

This is based on its commitment and determination to serve the continental agenda in the field of peace and security according to a comprehensive and multidimensional approach.
