Spanish Foreign Minister highlights the importance of the Nigerian-Moroccan gas pipeline for Spain

The Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs has said that his country is interested in the pipeline that Nigeria is developing with Morocco.

Jose Manuel Albarez, on the sidelines of an official visit to the state of Nigeria, confirmed this. The Nigerian-Moroccan gas pipeline project, will solve the problem of ships going from Nigeria to Europe.

For his part, the Nigerian Minister of Petroleum, Timipre Sylva, committed in Abuja to his Spanish counterpart to supply large quantities of gas to Spain as a trusted country in the international energy market.

It is worth mentioning that Morocco is on the lookout for this project. To strengthen its position and its contribution to integrated economic projects on the African continent. To strengthen its role in South-South economic cooperation relations. The gas project contributes to regional economic integration in West and North Africa. Morocco considers this integration as one of its strategic priorities on the African continent.

And for the African countries whose territory will be crossed by the Niger-Moroccan gas pipeline. The expected economic benefit of this project will be different for countries that have gas reserves. This project will enable the country to export its gas and sell it to African countries and Europe at a lower cost.
