Hammouchi Receives Director of German Federal Office for Constitution Protection

Abdellatif Hammouchi, the director general of territorial surveillance, welcomed Thomas Haldenwang, the head of the German Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV), along with senior members of this intelligence agency, on Wednesday in Rabat.

According to a statement from the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), the discussions between the two parties were primarily focused on the assessment of the security situation at the regional level, the review of challenges brought on by the growing terrorist threat, as well as ways to strengthen security cooperation between the two countries on firm foundations of credibility, trust, and shared interests.

In light of the significant changes that characterize the terrorist threat and organized crime, the meeting is intended to reaffirm the parties’ shared commitment to enhancing security cooperation and consolidating the coordination of intelligence in the fight against threats to the security of both countries, according to the statement.
