Moroccan Soufiane El Barrak crowned reader of the year in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia
At the “IRead” competition’s 2023 edition on Saturday in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, Moroccan Soufian El Barrak took home the Reader of the Year prize.
Abderrahman Al Aoufi of Saudi Arabia received the “Reading Ambassadors” prize during the awards ceremony, which was also attended by various intellectuals and Mustapha Mansouri, the ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Saudi Arabia. Dhahran’s “Ahliyya” schools took home the “Reading Schools” medal. The “Audience Prize” was won by Balqees Solan of Saudi Arabia.
Soukaina Bouchtab, a Moroccan reader, had advanced to the semifinals of the 2023 IRead competition, which had 10 readers and writers.
