On Wednesday, Matt Hancock, Britain’s Health Minister, announced the discovery of a new strain of corona virus.

“This virus is more contagious, and it seems that it has evolved more than the new virus,” said Hancock at a press conference. Noting that two cases of another type of “covid-19” have been detected. Both of which have been contacted by cases from South Africa over the past few weeks.

He clarified that the British government imposes restrictions of travel to South Africa, and a mandatory two-week quarantine on south African arrivals who have been in contact with them.

The British Advisory Council, liable of the new emerging threats of respiratory system viruses, announced last Saturday that the new strain of corona virus, which is spreading faster, requires caution from population. Pointing that according to preliminary estimations, the prevalence of the new strain may be 70% higher.
