Since the beginning of the vaccination campaign in Morocco, 1,707,091 vaccine injections have been administered as of February 15th. Morocco is ahead of Turkey which ranks 10th (0.21%), Malta in 8th position (0.41%), Bahrain in 7th position (0.48%), and then the United States in 6th place with a rate of 0.5%.

As a reminder, Morocco received different batches of the British vaccine AstraZeneca, made in India, as well as that of Chinese laboratory Sinopharm. The vaccination campaign launched by His Majesty King Mohammed VI on January 28th, 2021, is free for all citizens with the objective of immunizing 80% of the population (30 million people), reducing and then eliminating cases of contamination and death linked to the epidemic and to stem spread of the virus.

During this “gradual” national campaign, the first injections were reserved in priority for health professionals over 40, public authorities, soldiers, and teachers over 45, and also people aged 75 and over before extending it to the rest of the population.
