Covid-19: More than 3 Million Doses Administered in First Phase and 162,000 in Second

The Moroccan Ministry of Health announced that the total number of Moroccans who received the anti covid-19 vaccine reached 3435,997 people, as of February 27th.


The Moroccan Ministry of Health announced that the total number of Moroccans who received the anti covid-19 vaccine reached 3435,997 people, as of February 27th.


As for the second dose, a statement by the Ministry of Health stated that 161,109 people were vaccinated.

The number of active cases thus stabilized at 5,985 cases, including 429 severe or critical cases. The occupancy rate of the intensive care beds dedicated to Covid-19 patients is 13.6%. 19 new severe or critical cases have been admitted over the last 24 hours, while 28 remain under intubation and 256 under non-invasive ventilation.

It is reported that Morocco received 7 million doses of the anti Covid-19 vaccine, including 6 million doses of AstraZeneca manufactured in India, and one million doses of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine.

The Ministry of Health announced the past few days that blood tests would be conducted in educational institutions, including students aged 16 to 18 years old, as well as administrative and educational officials, in a move aimed at curbing the outbreak of virus strains before their propagation.

It is worth mentioning that the Ministry announced the start of the second phase of vaccination against the virus since February 23rd for people aged 60 to 64 years, as part of accelerating the vaccination procedure.
