Covid-19: Morocco Records 3,498 New Cases, 2,953 Recoveries over Past 24 Hours

The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country rises to 167,148 while the number of cured people increases to 138,989, the ministry pointed out in its daily update, adding that the recovery rate has reached 83.2%.

A total of 46 covid 19-related deaths were registered in the past day, taking the death toll to 2,818, the source pointed out, adding that the fatality rate stands at 1.7%.

These fatalities were reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (17), Souss-Massa (8), the Oriental (7), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (4), Beni-Mellal-Khenifra (2), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (2), Fez-Meknes (2), Marrakech-Safi (1), Guelmim-Oued Noun (2) and Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (1).

The new COVID-19 cases were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (1,723), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (425), the Oriental (371), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (217), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (200), Souss-Massa (174), Marrakech-Safi (140), Draa-Tafilalet (108), Fez-Meknes (60), Guelmim-Oued Noun (43), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (30) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (7).

The total number of excluded cases following negative tests rises to 2,826,340 since the start of the outbreak, including 20,103 in the past day.

The number of active cases has reached 25,341, including 546 patients in a critical or severe condition.
