Said Amzazi: Morocco Is Firmly Attached To Its Sahara
Dakhla city, which is part of the Moroccan Sahara, is witnessing a new beginning.
Minister of Education Said Amzazi, accompanied by the governor of Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab region, Amine Benomar, and the governor of Aousserd province, Abdelrahman Elgohary, attended the opening of the 2020 regular session of the Regional Academy of Education and Training (AREF) of Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab.
The session covered the approval of various projects in the region, which involve programs concerned with public education and employment for the period of 2021-2023.
The event, which took place today in Dakhla, comes a few days after the US declared its recognition of Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara.
In a speech during the event, Amzazi stressed that Morocco is firmly attached to its Sahara, hailing HM King Mohammed VI’s wise diplomatic approach to the Sahara issue and his commitment to the development of the kingdom’s southern provinces.
Dakhla recently witnessed the inauguration of the consulate of the Republic of Haiti, which is the first non-Arab and non-African country to open a Consulate in the Moroccan Sahara.
Other countries that have announced their decision to open a consulate in the same city include Bahrain, Jordan, and the United States.
