Following the silence that characterized Morocco’s position regarding the crisis that erupted with Spain, especially after thousands of people entered the occupied city of Ceuta, Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, made his first strong statement in which he responded to Spain’s position regarding this crisis.
Bourita revealed that the Spanish media’s attack against Morocco, on the basis of fake news, cannot hide the real trigger of this crisis, which is the entry of Polisario leader into Spain using a forged identity.
“Madrid must be transparent about Spanish public opinion”, stressed the minister in his statement, adding that “Morocco does not tolerate the duality of discourse and stances” by Spain.
In the same context, Bourita emphasized that Spain “must realize that the Morocco of today is not the Morocco of yesterday”, noting that some parties in Spain need to update their view regarding Morocco.
