President Donal J. Trump awarded on Friday 15 January the Legion of Merit, Degree Chief Commander, to His Majesty, King of Morocco, Mohammed VI.

President Donal J. Trump awarded on Friday 15 January the Legion of Merit, Degree Chief Commander, to His Majesty, King of Morocco, Mohammed VI.

It is considered a rarely awarded, prestigious decoration bestowed only by the President to chiefs of state or heads of government of other countries.

According to a press release by the White House, His Majesty, King of Morocco, Mohammed VI has displayed exceptional leadership over more than two decades during which he has advanced the deeply-rooted and ongoing partnership between Morocco and the US across all domains.

The press release further added that His Majesty’s vision and personal courage have positively reshaped the landscape of the Middle East and North Africa and ushered in a new era of security and prosperity for both Morocco, US, and the world.

Morocco’s Ambassador to the United States, Her Highness, Princess Lalla Joumala, accepted the award on behalf of His Majesty in a private ceremony.
