FM Nasser Bourita Holds Talks with His Qatari Counterpart

Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad, on Wednesday April 21, 2021, held talks via videoconference technology with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar.

Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad, on Wednesday April 21, 2021, held talks via videoconference technology with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar.

During this call, the two ministers reviewed the course of bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries in various fields, noting the tangible development that are being witnessed, thanks to the high patronage of the leaders of the two countries, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, and his brother His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

The two ministers agreed to pursue efforts to prepare well for the eighth session of the Joint High Committee in Doha, headed by the Prime Minister on the Moroccan side and the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior on the Qatari side, as soon as possible, upon the improvement of the health conditions associated with the Corona pandemic.

On the same occasion, Nasser Bourita praised the position of the State of Qatar in support of Morocco’s sovereignty over its desert and territorial integrity, recalling the content of the phone call that took place between His Majesty King Mohammed VI and His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, on November 16, 2020, in which he expressed His Highness expressed the sisterly State of Qatar’s support for the measures taken by the Kingdom in order to defend its security and sovereignty over its lands.

The Gulf reconciliation was one of the axes of this communication, as Bourita expressed the Kingdom of Morocco’s satisfaction with the results of the Al-Ula summit and the steps that followed it on the horizon of strengthening the unity of the Gulf home.

During this contact, views were exchanged on a number of Arab and regional issues of common interest, and the two ministers affirmed their countries ’commitment to dialogue, understanding and peaceful solutions to find acceptable solutions to the region’s issues.
