Guergarat Follow-Up: El Othmani Holds urgent meeting with political parties’ leaders

The Royal Armed Forces had announced the establishment of a security belt to ensure the flow of goods and people through Guergarat border crossing

Morocco Prime Minister, Saad Eddine El Othmani, revealed a short while ago, through a Facebook post, that a meeting will be held with leaders of political parties to inform them of the latest developments in Guerguerat.

In his post, El Othmani wrote: “I will soon hold a meeting with the leaders of national political parties to put them in the picture of the operation carried out by the Royal Armed Forces in the Guerguerat region.”

The Royal Armed Forces had announced the establishment of a security belt to ensure the flow of goods and people through Guergarat border crossing. This follows a series of “Polisario” provocations which, assisted by its militias, closed the crossing, and paralyzed civilian and commercial traffic, in addition to harassing Moroccan soldiers and other members of the MINURSO stationed in the region.
