Karima Benyaich: This Crisis Revealed The Hidden Motives Of Some Spanish Parties Who Insist On Harming Morocco’s Higher Interests

Morocco’s ambassador to Spain, Karima Benyaich, issued a statement regarding the recent statements of Spanish Foreign Minister Arancha Gonzalez, indicating that Morocco has taken note of these policies and will deal with Spain accordingly.

The text of the statement is as follows:

Recently, the Spanish foreign minister made statements to the press and parliament in which she continues to present false facts and make inappropriate remarks.

These statements require the following clarifications:

“First, one only regrets the excitement that accompanies these statements.

Secondly, the current crisis revealed the real motives and hidden plans of some parties in Spain, who still insist on harming the higher interests of the Kingdom since the recovery of Moroccan Sahara in 1975.

Thirdly, we have the right to ask whether these recent statements are a personal mistake of the minister, or do they reflect real intentions in some Spanish parties against the territorial integrity of the Kingdom, and the sacred cause of the Moroccan people, as well as all vital forces of the nation.

Fourth, the mutual respect and trust between the two countries, which the Spanish Prime Minister referred to, is unfortunately now in question.

Morocco has taken note of this and will act accordingly.”
