King Mohammed VI laureate of the Jean Jaurès Peace Prize

King Mohammed VI received an award from the European Center for Peace and Conflict Resolution (ECPCR).
The Sovereign is the laureate of the Jean Jaurès Peace Prize for 2021, which is given out on September 21st in honor of International Day of Peace.

The jury for the Jean Jaurès de la Paix prize convened in Paris on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, to select the international person it believes is most deserving of the title of Man of Peace for the year 2021.

“In honor of his enormous involvement in the dissemination of peace principles inside and outside of Morocco, he decided to give the Jean Jaurès Peace Prize to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, King of the Kingdom of Morocco,” the jury states.

761 applications were received for the 2021 edition, including 258 popular applications, 54 individual applications, 418 diplomatic applications, and 31 official applications.
The committee chose King Mohammed VI for several reasons and factors, according to the NGO.

Including “his contribution to building a society of justice and peace between men and nations, his very laudable actions in favor of promotion of Africa’s development through its economic, security, humanitarian, cultural, and spiritual diplomacy.”
