Lalla Joumala Alaoui meets Israeli Ambassador to the US
Ambassador Dermer presented Ambassador Joumala Alaoui with a Chanukiah.
Lalla Joumala Alaoui – The first woman to serve as the Moroccan Ambassador to the United States – met Israeli Ambassador to the US Ron Dermer on the 17th December in Washington.
Ms. Alaoui received Mr. Dermer on the 17th December in Morocco’s Embassy. A meeting on which the Ambassador of Israel to the US had commented, saying: “The beginning of a beautiful friendship,” further stating that it was a pleasure meeting Ambassador Lalla Joumala.
On the occasion of this meeting, Ambassador Dermer presented Ambassador Joumala Alaoui with a Chanukiah which has been used by Moroccan Jewry for generations, a symbol for Israel and Morocco’s extravagant start.
