Moroccan Sahara: Hungary Officially Issues Joint Declaration Supporting Moroccan Autonomy Plan

Through this declaration, Hungary confirms the importance of the strategic partnership that links the two countries.

The Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade published, today Monday, on its official website, the Moroccan-Hungarian joint declaration, adopted at the end of the visit of Peter Szijjártó, Head of the Hungarian diplomacy, to Morocco on June 9th.

In this declaration, Hungary supports the Moroccan proposal for an autonomy plan for the Sahara. It also supports the development efforts undertaken by Morocco in the Southern Provinces.

In this regard, Hungary welcomed the serious and credible efforts of Morocco, as a regional pole of stability and a privileged partner for development in Africa.

Hungary also congratulated Morocco for its decisive and exemplary role in the fight against illegal immigration, as a strategic partner of the European Union.

Morocco and Hungary stressed the importance of raising the level of economic and trade cooperation to match the excellence of bilateral political relations.
