Morocco and Sudan discuss partnership perspectives in the mining sector

Mr. Aziz RABBAH, Minister of Energy, Mines and Environment, met with Mr Mohamed Bashir Abdullah, Minister of Mines of the Republic of Sudan, on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at the headquarters of his Ministry, as part of a working and friendship visit to Morocco from September 21 to September 25, 2021, as part of the strengthening of bilateral cooperation in the mining sector between Morocco and Sudan.

This meeting provided a chance for the economic actors of the two nations to exchange ideas and discuss strategies to explore prospects for bilateral collaboration in the mining sector.

During the meeting, the two Ministers praised the high quality of the existing relations between the two brother countries, particularly in the mining sector, and expressed their desire to strengthen them further by increasing meetings and consultations between the heads of their Ministries in order to develop a roadmap for bilateral mining cooperation that will allow the two countries to work together more effectively.

In addition to field trips, Mr.Mohamed Bashir Abdullah’s tour includes a series of meetings with actors in Morocco’s mining sector, including the OCP Group, the National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines, the MANAGEM Group, and the National School of Mines of Rabat.
