Morocco dismisses Algeria’s weak reason to break the diplomatic relationships between the countries.
However, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Morocco stayed silent in its first official response to Algeria’s decision to break diplomatic relations with Morocco, which was announced last evening by Ramtane Lamamra, Algeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs.
In a statement, Morocco’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it had “advised the Kingdom of Morocco of the unilateral decision by the Algerian authorities to break diplomatic relations with Morocco for the time being.”

In a communiqué from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Kingdom of Morocco expressed regret for this entirely unjustifiable and predictable action, as well as its impact on the Algerian people, given the logic of escalation seen in recent weeks. It firmly opposes the erroneous, even absurd, justifications that underpin it.
“For its part, the Kingdom of Morocco will continue to be an honest and trustworthy partner of the Algerian people, working with wisdom and responsibility to build healthy and fruitful Moroccan ties.”
