Morocco-Spain Crisis: European MP Calls For Strengthening Partnership With Morocco

Member of the European Parliament, Ilhan Kyuchyuk, called on the European Union to strengthen its “unique” and “strategic” partnership with Morocco in the fields of immigration and security.

The Bulgarian MP wrote on Twitter, “Europe should strengthen the unique and strategic partnership with Morocco in security and migration in the Mediterranean.”

It is noteworthy that Morocco has become a model in recent years in the field of migration, thanks to its continuous efforts in combating illegal immigration and countering migrant smuggling networks.

The Kingdom was also among the first countries in the southern Mediterranean area to adopt a solidarity and humanitarian policy in terms of receiving and integrating migrants as part of the new immigration policy launched by His Majesty King Mohammed VI in 2013.

Thus, regularizing the status of immigrants on the national soil enabled them to access all services and benefit from all the advantages granted to Moroccan citizens.
