Spanish La Razón: European Arrogance Will Not Help In Solving The Crisis With Morocco

"The systematic exclusion of an ally, which occupies a fundamental position for our interests, does not seem an appropriate strategy to overcome the crisis."

Director of the Spanish daily “La Razón“, Francisco Marhuenda, stated that the “European arrogance” of some Spanish media and politicians who attack Morocco is not the correct path to resolving the conflict with an “ally country”.

Marhuenda wrote, in an opinion article published yesterday Friday, that the position of some politicians, analysts and journalists, who criticize Morocco with “European arrogance” does “not help in overcoming the current conflict with the Kingdom.”

He stressed that “the systematic exclusion of an ally, which occupies a fundamental position for our interests, does not seem an appropriate strategy to overcome the crisis”, considering that “this conflict requires wisdom and firmness.”

In this regard, Marhuenda expressed his regret that some Spanish media and politicians “did not draw lessons from the mistakes of the past”, highlighting that “the mismanagement of this political excess, this incomprehensible and controversial behavior, represented by the reception of the leader of the Polisario Front sparked a serious diplomatic crisis” with Morocco.

On the other hand, the Spanish journalist shed light on the Kingdom’s decisive role in managing migration flows, in a way that serves the interests of Spain and the European Union.
