The Republic of Burundi Welcomes Morocco’s Decision to Open an Embassy in Bujumbura

On Thursday, February 18th, the Republic of Burundi welcomed Morocco’s decision to open an embassy in the country.

On Thursday, February 18th, the Republic of Burundi welcomed Morocco’s decision to open an embassy in the country.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation of the Republic of Burundi (MAECD) stated that the country

“welcomes the Kingdom of Morocco’s decision to open an Embassy in Burundi, based in Bujumbura”,

adding that

“The government of the Republic of Burundi reaffirms the maintenance of its consular representation in the city of Laayoune in the Kingdom of Morocco.”

The Ministry also noted through a post on Twitter that the Moroccan Embassy “will serve as a direct diplomatic bridge between the two countries.”
