Morocco – Israel: Launch Of Direct Flights Starting From July 19

"The first flight will take place on July 19 from Tel Aviv to Marrakech", said a spokesperson for Israel's second-largest airline, adding that there would be five flights per week.

The “Israir Airlines” announced on Tuesday the launch of direct flights between Morocco and Israel starting from next July.

“The first flight will take place on July 19 from Tel Aviv to Marrakech”, said a spokesperson for Israel’s second-largest airline, adding that there would be five flights per week.

“We believe that demand will be strong and that hundreds of thousands of Israelis will want to take advantage of these direct flights to Morocco”, adds Gil Stav, Israir’s Deputy Sales Director in a statement reported by the Israeli press.

Israir also said that a round-trip ticket will cost $580.

For its part, Israeli airline “El Al” announced on Tuesday that it plans to launch direct flights to Morocco in July and is awaiting final approval from Moroccan and Israeli authorities.

It should be recalled that the Moroccan Minister of Tourism, Nadia Fettah Alaoui had previously indicated, in an interview with the Israeli Public Broadcasting Cooperation “Kan” that Morocco is expecting around 200,000 Israeli tourists in a first step.

Morocco is home to the largest Jewish community in North Africa, numbering around 3,000 people, while 700,000 Jews of Moroccan origin live in Israel.
