Morocco’s Interior Ministry to raise Wages of Authority Agents in 2021

Morocco’s Minister of the Interior Abdelouafi Laftit  announced  an increase in the salaries of Mqaddems and Chioukhs considering the services they provide to citizens. The decision will come into effect in the year 2021.

Following a question from the parliamantarian Said Baaziz about the situation of authority agents, Laftit explained that to improve their financial situation the ministry has taken many initiatives including, among others, salary increases,seniority promotion system, family allowances and health insurance.

the salary of the chioukhs in the cities will increase to 4000 DH in the next year, while it was 3500 DH since 2016. That of the moqaddems in the cities will increase to 3600 DH, whereas since 2016 it was 3100 DH.

Those working in smaller towns or rural communities will also benefit from this increase. The salary will thus increase from 1500 DH (since 2016) to 3000 DH for chioukhs, and that of moqaddems will increase from 810 DH to 2500 in 2021.
