Abderraouf, a well-known and adored actor and comedian from Morocco, died at the age of 86 after enduring a protracted illness.

In the early hours of Monday, Oussama Tounsi, Abderraouf’s son, posted on Facebook that his father had passed away. The Moroccan artist passed away in the family’s Casablanca home after experiencing persistent health problems.

Fans of Abderraouf experienced a wave of sorrow upon hearing of his passing and grieved the loss of one of Morocco’s most recognizable performers and comedians.

Abderraouf, who was born in Casablanca on December 27, 1936, entered the workforce in the early 1960s. Elcinema said that he was well known for his “distinctive loose clothes and boyish look.”

“I tried wearing other outfits, but I found that large clothes matched my sarcastic character,” Abderraouf once remarked.

Abderraouf established a theater band in 1957, and the group played both domestically and overseas in several venues. He was a comedy genius who excelled not just on stage but also in a number of television productions.

The late Moroccan actor left a rich history, appearing in a number of well-known films, including Majid, Bila Hodoud, and his most recent picture, Aami (my uncle), which was released in 2016.

He achieved global fame and earned the nickname Abderraouf in honor of the protagonist character in his television series and sitcom “Abderraouf and Retirement” (2007).

As the news of his death spread on social media, several Moroccan artists and prominent personalities expressed their sorrow.

After wishing the year’s conclusion farewell, he went. Rachid El Ouali, a Moroccan actor, expressed his sincere sympathies to the family of the late legend after a lifetime in which he made millions of Moroccans laugh.
