Alcohol sales at stadiums won’t be permitted in Qatar during the World Cup 2022, which will start on November 20.

The decision was made after talks between the hosting country and FIFA, according to FIFA, which announced the news on Friday, two days before the World Cup kicked off.

The Alcohol sales decision was reached, according to the statement, “to focus the sale of alcoholic beverages on the FIFA Fan Festival, other fan destinations, and licensed venues, eliminating sales points of beer from Qatar’s FIFA World Cup 2022 stadium perimeters.”

The statement emphasized that the decision will not have an impact on “Bud Zero, which will remain accessible at all Qatar World Cup stadiums.”

The Qatari government has been the target of various campaigns that criticized the limits it imposed in accordance with the nation’s principles and religion.

One of the debates that focused on the Gulf nation was a cartoon published by the French publication Le Canard Enchaine.

The cartoon, which was made in response to Qatar’s hosting of the FIFA World Cup in 2022, included images of bearded guys sporting Qatar’s national football shirt.

The figures were sometimes seen with weapons and firearms in the illustrations.

Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani condemned the “unprecedented” criticism of Qatar in response to previous crises and efforts against the Gulf nation.

In October, he claimed that since Qatar was chosen to host the World Cup, it has been exposed to a campaign that had never been experienced by a host nation.

It is notable that in 2010 Qatar won the right to host the 2022 World Cup.
