“With the creation of the Morocco-Angola Joint Commission, it has been possible to identify concrete areas of cooperation with Morocco,” said António on the sidelines of a reception organized by the Moroccan Embassy in Luanda to mark the 24th anniversary of HM King Mohammed VI’s accession to the Throne of His Glorious Ancestors.

He added that Morocco and Angola are willing to cooperate in areas of common interest, such as insurance, transport and the training of Angolan personnel.

Stressing that trade relations between the two countries “fall short of expectations”, he called on economic operators and the peoples of both countries to make greater efforts to “get to know each other better”.

For her part, Morocco’s ambassador to Angola, Saadia El Alaoui, considered it important to intensify bilateral cooperation relations, highlighting the contribution of both countries to consolidating peace and stability on the African continent.

Scientists have discovered unknown mutations of the emerging Covid-19 virus in tourists from Tanzania.

Director of private research laboratory KRISP, Professor Tulio de Oliveira, said they identified three cases; all of them are now in Angola.

According to preliminary studies, the new strain is the most dangerous among those discovered so far. This mutated virus is immune to antibodies and travels easily from one vector to another. Scientists fear that the now available vaccines may be useless against this new strain.

Experts are also concerned about the fact that Tanzanian authorities have refused to acknowledge the existence of a pandemic and have not taken any restrictive measures. According to them, it is impossible to control the epidemiological situation and prevent the spread of the virus in this way.

Tanzania has officially registered 509 cases of Covid-19, including 21 deaths, but here is no more data regarding the spread of the virus in Tanzania.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has repeatedly called on the United Republic of Tanzania to take the pandemic seriously, but Tanzanian President John Magufuli denied the danger of the virus and unfortunately passed away mid-March.
