Morocco will use owls in a biological elimination strategy similar to that used in Israel. In an article published last week, the journal “The Jerusalem Post” used this headline.

According to Israeli media, the Kingdom is therefore joining a project that has proven successful in several other countries in the area.

According to the same source, Prof. Yossi Leshem, ornithologist, member of the Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel, and professor of zoology at Tel Aviv University.

Morocco’s commitment to this project stems from a meeting with Pr. Imad Cherkaoui, ornithologist and research professor at Ibn Tofail University, a few years ago.

The Israeli scientist who developed this innovative approach of biological pest control also claims that this collaboration was favored following the restoration of diplomatic relations between Morocco and Israel.
