A business visit to Dakhla is expected on March 28th, where a series of official meetings will be held with officials, businessmen and political actors in the region of Dakhla-Oued-Ed-Dahab, in addition to visiting some industrial and tourist facilities in the city in order to investigate the economic situation in the region and the investment opportunities it offers, and to determine the business climate and the quality of infrastructure.

It is noted that intensive preparations preceded David Greene’s visit to Dakhla, as a few days ago, a delegation from the American embassy in Rabat arrived in the city, and a number of tourist units visited the city’s airport and met with a number of officials to prepare for the official visit of the Chargé d’Affaires at the US embassy in Rabat.

Israel’s office in Rabat had been closed for 20 years before it’s reopening today following the appointment of David Govrin who served as former envoy to Egypt.

The reopening of the office comes as a result of Morocco normalizing ties with Israel following US recognition of Moroccan Sahara.

The office in Rabat had been closed for 20 years but it hasn’t been sold. The closure of the office in Rabat was a result of Morocco’s support to Palestinian people during the second Intifada.

Morocco and Israel plan to open full Embassies following the re-opening of the liaison offices in both countries; however, there is no official date for the opening of the Embassies yet.
