Informed sources revealed to the online newspaper “AnalKhabar” that Republic of Kenya has requested assistance from Morocco to develop the port of Lamu.

According to the same sources, Morocco has responded to Kenya’s request; a Moroccan commission is anticipated to land in Kenya either tomorrow or the following day to investigate the port of Lamu and provide the necessary resources.

The same sources said that the Moroccan approach to Kenya is part of the opening granted by King Mohammed VI to sub-Saharan countries.

Kenya has begun to modify its stance regarding the Moroccan Sahara case, which has received attention from numerous media outlets.

The new Kenyan position marks an “important turning point” in the evolution of the Moroccan Sahara issue in Africa, highlighting the decision of the President of the Republic, Mr. William Ruto, not to recognize the so-called “Polisario Front”.

Newspapers mention that Kenya is one of the most significant and influential nations on the continent, and that President William Ruto’s decision “reinforces the positive attitude and credibility of the autonomy initiative proposed by the Kingdom to settle the dispute over the Moroccan Sahara.”
