The Kingdom is currently the largest Arab country exporting to Mexico, therefore preceding the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman and Egypt.

Morocco topped the list of Arab countries exporting to Mexico in 2020, as the Kingdom exported more than 298 million USD in products, according to figures from the Mexican Business Council for Foreign Trade (COMCE).

The kingdom’s main exports to Mexico include calcium phosphate, auto and aircraft parts, and marine fishing products.

A communiqué by the Moroccan Embassy in Mexico stated that Moroccan exports to the second largest economy in Latin America are witnessing a significant increase despite the restrictions associated with the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Kingdom is currently the largest Arab country exporting to Mexico, therefore preceding the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman and Egypt.

On the other hand, Morocco, which is Mexico’s second largest trading partner in Africa, imported 26 million dollars in Mexican products, consisting mainly of butane, and electronic and mechanical equipment. The same source added that “the total return of bilateral trade with Mexico amounted to 324 million dollars, and prospects for developing these exchanges are promising.”

The communiqué also stated that Moroccan ambassador to Mexico, Abdelfattah Lebbar, affirmed the “clear interest” of Mexican actors in strengthening economic relations with the Kingdom, expressing his hope to fully exploit the commercial potential of the two countries.

In this regard, Lebbar referred to the importance of enhancing business visits, in particular, in order to stimulate investment and trade, and to benefit from the cooperation agreement concluded in 2004 in Mexico between the Mexican Business Council for Foreign Trade and the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM).

Everybody knows the tremendous friendship shown by the kings and the people of Morocco to the Jewish community there.

Hundreds of thousands of these Moroccan Jews came to Israel, and they formed a human bridge between our two countries of sympathy, respect, of fondness and love, and I think this is the foundation that we can now build this peace between Morocco and Israel.” Only less than a week ago, President Netanyahu made this statement clarifying the significance of the Jewish community to both Morocco and Israel.

Now, this significance is apparent all over the world. The Moroccan Jewish community is coming out of all places to commend Morocco’s decision in resuming official contact with Israel. Not only that, but the community is also saluting and celebrating President Trump’s decision to recognize the Moroccan Sahara and the US plan to open a consulate in the city of Dakhla, calling it “an important development” that would enable the devotion of “the Moroccan character of the Sahara at the international level.”

“We, Moroccan Jews, have Morocco in our blood. We are all faithful and loyal to HM King Mohammed VI and remain viscerally attached to our country of origin,” Rabbi Mesoud Asher Zrihen had stated earlier. The Rabbi took pride along with the whole Moroccan Jewish community at the Moroccan Embassy in Mexico City in the latest achievements made by the kingdom, praised HM King Mohammed VI for such breakthroughs, and clarified how happy the Community is with the resumption of Israel and Morocco’s official ties, further calling the Jewish community’s relation with Morocco as “unique and special.”

The Moroccan Jewish community’s pride of these breakthroughs stems from their results, since they can clearly see that the Kingdom’s achievements are a huge step into spreading peace, tolerance, and stability.
It’s important to note that the Jewish community in Mexico was among the first communities that expressed their support and solidarity with Morocco after its peaceful operation in Guerguerat on the 13th November, near the Mauritanian-Moroccan border, which aimed to “restore peace and the cross-border flow of goods and people after Polisario militas caused an illegal blockade in the region.”

“The friends of Morocco in Mexico congratulate HM King Mohammed VI for the firm determination to defend the sovereignty and integrity of his nation”, indicates this platform bringing together a range of personalities from the world of politics, arts and culture and the Mexican private sector.

The friendship group welcomed Morocco’s actions aimed at putting an end to the situation of tension and blockade that prevailed in this border area with Mauritania, due to the irresponsible acts of separatists “Polisario”.

“In these moments of great complexity for the whole world, in a context of a pandemic, the Mexico-Morocco friendship group wants reason and legality to lay the foundations for priority actions to meet the needs of the peoples of the Maghreb beyond any other consideration”

Several members of this platform paid a visit to the diplomatic representation of Morocco in Mexico City to convey to the Ambassador of the Kingdom, Abdelfattah Lebbar, the friendship and full solidarity with Morocco, and the commitment to contribute to foster bilateral ties and better understanding between the two peoples.

Alongside the parliamentary friendship group between Morocco and Mexico, this friendship group was set up with the ambition to serve as a natural complement to strengthen reconciliation and exchanges through the diversification of areas of partnership between the two countries.
