A public prosecutor’s office in France revealed today that they are looking into a car ramming incident on the home of L’Hay-les-Roses mayor Vincent Jeanbrun.

When speaking about the incident, the mayor said that the attack had hurt his wife and two of his two children.

The event, which the mayor referred to as a “unspeakably cowardly assassination attempt,” occurred at 1:30 a.m. on Saturday while he was in city hall, he added.

The mayor said that “individuals rammed their car into my home before setting it ablaze to burn my house, inside which my wife and my two young children slept.”

There are “no words strong” enough, he insisted, to convey his feelings on what transpired on Saturday night.

Following the murder of Nael, a 17-year-old teenager who was not carrying any weapons, on Tuesday, France has been dogged by controversy.

France has seen rallies since Nael’s death, with many denouncing the frightening rise in bigotry.

The fans in Brussels reacted angrily to Morocco’s victory against Belgium today after Morocco’s win in Qatar, and police deployed water cannons, tear gas, and ringed the city center to disperse crowds and keep them under control.

Many rioters after the game set fire to steps and threw rocks at vehicles.

Philippe Close, the mayor of Brussels, pleaded with soccer fans to stay away from the downtown area while assuring them that the police were doing all possible to keep the peace.

“I condemn in the strongest possible terms the incidents of this afternoon. The police have already intervened firmly. I therefore advise supporters not to come to the city centre. The police are using all their resources to maintain public order,” reacted the mayor of Brussels, Philippe Close, on Twitter.
