Morocco Improves In World Military Strength Rankings

The US site data for the year 2021 showed that Morocco advanced to place 53rd out of 140 countries included in the classification, after it was ranked 57th in the 2020 ranking.

Morocco improved by four places in the ranking of the most powerful armies in the world, according to the annual ranking issued by “Global Firepower” which specializes in arranging and comparing the most powerful armies around the world.

The US site data for the year 2021 showed that Morocco advanced to the 53rd place out of 140 countries included in the classification, after it was ranked 57th in the 2020 ranking.

At the level of Air Force, Morocco ranks 40th in the world with 249 warplanes; including military training aircraft, helicopters, military transport aircraft and special operations aircraft.

At the level of sea force, Morocco is ranked 21st in the world with 121 marine vessels, while ranking tenth at the level of land force with more than 3000 tanks.

Global Firepower ranking is based on 50 factors, ranging from military and financial strength to logistical capacity and geography. This allows smaller, more technologically advanced countries to compete with larger and less developed countries.

In the Arab world, Egypt is progressing to the 13th place in the classification of Global Firepower despite its retreat from last year, while Turkey ranks 11th, making it the first in the MENAT region.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is ranked 17th, Algeria is ranked 27th, while the UAE is ranked 36th.

The US maintained its military supremacy by having the most powerful army in the world, followed by Russia, China, India and Japan.
