<p>“I take this occasion to restate, without ambiguity, my country’s support for the Moroccan Sahara,” he said, confirming his country’s support for Morocco’s autonomy plan.</p>
<p>He recalled that the Gambia was the first country to open a consulate in Dakhla, “an area that is an intrinsic part of Moroccan territory,” in this context.</p>

<p>During a press release following the meeting, the Gambian minister stated that the President of Gambia extended an invitation to HM King Mohammed VI to visit Gambia, pointing out his country&#8217;s position on the territorial integrity of the Kingdom.</p>
<p>Barrow also stressed that Gambia supports Morocco in the Moroccan Sahara matter, and noted that his country was one of the first countries to open a consulate general in Dakhla.</p>
<p>Morocco and Gambia have strong and historic bilateral relations under auspices of leaders of the two countries, His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the President of Gambia, Adama Barrow, recalling that the joint committee will soon convene in Banjul, where a set of agreements will be signed in a variety of domains.</p>
