The date and venue, Kigali, will coincide with the convening of a FIFA Congress. The host country of the CAN 2025 will therefore be designated on the sidelines of the FIFA Congress and the partial renewal of the seats on the CAF Executive Committee. Also, the president of “CAF”, the South African, Patrice Motsepe, taking advantage of the FIFA event, will choose this date and this place and the very likely presence of the president of FIFA Giovanni Vincenzo Infantino, known as Gianni Infantino, to announce the country that has been selected for the organization of the CAN 2025.

The initial date had been scheduled for February 10 and had to be postponed due to several reasons including the holding in early February, the prestigious Club World Cup, which the Kingdom organized and which was won by Real Madrid who had defeated (5 / 3) Al Hilal (Saudi Arabia).

That being said, before designating the “winner”, who will organise the “CAN 2025”, Morocco remains in competition with Zambia, the Nigeria-Benin binomial and Algeria and will not know whether or not it will organise the event that all Moroccans are waiting for. March 16 is a date put forward by the magazine “Jeune Afrique”.For its part, CAF has not issued any official statement on the date of the announcement of this great event.

The African magazine also believes that the African football authority will announce the hosts of the 2025 and 2027 editions on the same day, assuming of course that the CAF Executive Board approves the proposal.

Morocco is considered the favourite and most likely to host the 2025 edition of the African Cup of Nations, due to its predisposition compared to the rest of its competitors in terms of stadiums and infrastructures.

The identity of the country that will host the 2025 African Cup of Nations will not be known for some time. The date of 10 February, initially announced, was finally postponed, thus prolonging the suspense. CAF had announced that Morocco, Zambia, Nigeria-Benin and Algeria had submitted their bids to host the event. Before choosing the country or countries that will host this competition, CAF preferred to give itself more time to reflect to make its decision in a climate of transparency, said its president Patrice Motsepe.

The African Football Federation has not yet set a date for the announcement of the nation that will host the 2025 African Cup of Nations because CAF wants to make the best choice without haste and in accordance with the standards necessary for the organization of this kind of competition. ” We will choose the host nation in accordance with moral principles, with complete credibility and independence. But I promise that this process will result in a conclusion,” he added. The head of African football added at a press conference: “We must concentrate on how we can use football to build our people and unite Africa. This phrase might be important in determining which nation will ultimately host the CAN in 2025.
