CAN 2025 host country: the decision has been postponed to a later time

On 10 February, as originally announced by the African Football Federation, the host country of the 2025 African Cup of Nations will not be announced.

The identity of the country that will host the 2025 African Cup of Nations will not be known for some time. The date of 10 February, initially announced, was finally postponed, thus prolonging the suspense. CAF had announced that Morocco, Zambia, Nigeria-Benin and Algeria had submitted their bids to host the event. Before choosing the country or countries that will host this competition, CAF preferred to give itself more time to reflect to make its decision in a climate of transparency, said its president Patrice Motsepe.

The African Football Federation has not yet set a date for the announcement of the nation that will host the 2025 African Cup of Nations because CAF wants to make the best choice without haste and in accordance with the standards necessary for the organization of this kind of competition. ” We will choose the host nation in accordance with moral principles, with complete credibility and independence. But I promise that this process will result in a conclusion,” he added. The head of African football added at a press conference: “We must concentrate on how we can use football to build our people and unite Africa. This phrase might be important in determining which nation will ultimately host the CAN in 2025.
