Washington – U.S. State Secretary, Antony Blinken, lauded the “crucial voice” of HM King Mohammed VI in advancing peace in the Middle-East and promoting a “secure and prosperous” future for Israelis and Palestinians.

The US State Department released a statement after the top US diplomat and Nasser Bourita, the Moroccan minister of foreign affairs, African cooperation, and Moroccans abroad, spoke on the phone on Sunday. “The Secretary lauded King Mohamed VI’s crucial voice in advancing regional peace and his leadership in promoting a secure and prosperous future for Israelis and Palestinians,” the statement read.

The two officials agreed that “full adherence to the recent ceasefire in Israel and Gaza” was crucial during their discussions about “the importance of the Negev Forum”.

The Middle East peace process and the two-state solution have been advanced by Morocco, led by HM King Mohammed VI, head of the Al-Quds Committee, according to recent praise from the United States for this country’s “appreciated role” in these endeavors.

“Of course HM, Morocco has a special relationship with the Palestinians. We value Morocco’s help to the Palestinian people and support for the two-state solution, said the U.S. Department of State Spokesperson. Washington – The United States on Monday reiterated its support for Morocco’s autonomy plan, deeming it “serious, credible and realistic” with a view to settling the regional conflict over the Moroccan Sahara.

Vedant Patel, the principal deputy spokesperson for the U.S. State Department, stated during his daily press briefing that “we continue to view Morocco’s autonomy plan as serious, as credible, as realistic”.

When asked about the Sunday phone discussion between the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, and the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Abroad, Nasser Bourita, Vedant stated, “There is no change in the U.S. position on this matter.”

Last March, Binken emphasized the U.S.’s steadfast position when he reaffirmed his nation’s support for Morocco’s autonomy plan in an effort to find a lasting political solution to the Sahara dispute under the auspices of the UN.

Blinken emphasized that the United States “continues” to view this idea as “serious, credible, and realistic” during discussions with his Moroccan counterpart in Washington.

The senior US diplomat recalled his nation’s “full support” for UN Personal Envoy of the Secretary-General Staffan de Mistura during a phone call with Bourita on Sunday.

Mike Rogers, the chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Armed Services, led a delegation from the US Congress that hailed King Mohammed VI’s pledge to further peace, prosperity, and security in the area and around the world on Wednesday in Rabat.

After meeting with Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Rogers gave a press conference during which he expressed his “deep gratitude to King Mohammed VI for his commitment to strengthening bilateral relations between the United States and Morocco as well as for His role in promoting peace, prosperity, and security in the region and the world.”

He continued that these discussions provided an opportunity to emphasize the Kingdom’s critical position as the United States’ partner on a variety of security-related matters. Rogers brought up the impending iteration of African Lion, the biggest American military exercise in Africa, which Morocco has been hosting for almost two decades.

She declared, “Morocco is a close ally of the United States,” reiterating their shared commitment to preserving peace, prosperity, and security in the area and around the world.

According to His Majesty the King, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), the South Zone General Staff will host the main planning meeting of the “African Lion 2022” exercise from January 24 to 28, 2022, with representatives from several countries, including the Kingdom of Morocco and the United States.
