Rabat – Morocco, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, reiterates its position in favor of peace as the strategic choice to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, said Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, on Monday.

At a virtual ministerial meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on the incidents of burning copies of the Holy Quran in Sweden, Bourita said that the Kingdom supports the peace process aimed at achieving a just, lasting, and comprehensive solution that will allow the comradely Palestinian people to regain their legitimate rights and establish their independent, viable, and sovereign state with East Al-Quds as its capital.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs emphasized that the Kingdom reaffirms its rejection of all reprehensible provocative acts and unilateral measures and practices targeting the occupied Palestinian territories, Al-Quds Al-Sharif, and Al-Aqsa Mosque in a speech read on his behalf by Fouad Akhrif, Director of Orient, Gulf, and Arab and Islamic Organizations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates.

HM the King, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, assured Bourita that the Palestinian issue and Al-Quds Al-Sharif have been and will continue to be the cause of all Moroccans, the King, the Government, and the people, and a major focus of Morocco’s political, diplomatic, and humanitarian action on the ground.

Jeddah – The announcement that concluded the “6+6” joint commission meetings, which were held in Bouznika and were tasked by the Libyan House of Representatives and High Council of State with drafting the laws governing the presidential and parliamentary elections, has been warmly received by the General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

The organization’s General Secretariat praised the role the Kingdom of Morocco played in securing these compromises in a statement released on Thursday.

It expressed the hope that this action would open the door for the conduct of presidential and parliamentary elections in a manner that satisfies the aspirations of the Libyan people for security, peace, stability, and development as well as the preservation of Libya’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity.

After two weeks of negotiations in Morocco, the “6+6” joint panel declared on Tuesday that its members had come to an agreement on the rules governing the presidential and parliamentary elections.

The Bouznika meeting is an extension of the series of gatherings the Kingdom has hosted, bringing together the various Libyan parties in order to deepen discussion on strategies for ending the nation’s crisis while adopting a strategy that creates the ideal environment for dialogue and useful consultation.

Jeddah – The Executive Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) reaffirmed the importance of the role of the Al-Quds Committee, chaired by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, in facing up to the dangerous policies implemented by the Israeli occupation authorities in Al-Quds Asharif.

The Organization’s Executive Committee held an extraordinary open-ended meeting on Saturday in Jeddah to discuss the ongoing Israeli attacks on the Al-Aqsa Mosque. The meeting’s conclusion was released after the meeting.

The group praised the work done by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency and reiterated the significance of the Al-Quds Committee in opposing Israeli policies that attempt to “change the identity and legal status, as well as the demographic, cultural, and historical composition” of the city.

The Organization’s Member States and General Secretariat demanded that immediate action be taken to address these serious attacks and put into place the mechanisms outlined in the pertinent resolutions to act at all levels and send urgent messages to the pertinent international bodies, including the Security Council.

These messages ought to be consistent with the organization’s stances on the matter and insist on securing international protection for the Palestinian people, the occupied city of Al-Quds Asharif, and its holy sites, particularly the Al-Aqsa Mosque, in the face of illegitimate attempts to alter the country’s current political and legal landscape.
