Israeli Foreign Minister: We Are Facing Challenges In Improving Relations With Morocco And Transforming Liaison Offices Into Embassies
TheMoroccan-Israeli normalization process faces several challenges, especially with the transitions that the United States, sponsor of the normalization agreement, is witnessing under the new administration of President Joe Biden.
Half a year after the signing of the normalization agreement, the Israeli authorities aspire to raise the level of their relations with Morocco, which the Tel Aviv Ministry of Foreign Affairs made it the second of two challenges it faces.
Israeli Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi said in a press interview that there are two main challenges to the normalization process, “they are the Dubai Expo in October, and it is expected that many Israelis will attend the event on a large scale, in addition to improving relations with Morocco, and transforming the offices in Tel Aviv and Rabat to two embassies for all intents and purposes”.
In his interview with Israeli media, Ashkenazi expressed his optimism regarding the relationship with the Arab countries, noting that he communicates with seven foreign ministers of Arab countries on a daily basis.
