Bourita And Dacic On Strengthening Morocco-Serbia Relations And Defending Territorial Integrity

Dacic reiterated Serbia's support for the territorial integrity of the Kingdom, saying, "We support the principle of the territorial integrity of Morocco. We are friends and we will continue this solidarity and our mutual support."

Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, held, yesterday Wednesday in Rabat, talks with Ivica Dacic, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, who is visiting Morocco along with an important parliamentary delegation.

During this meeting, the two sides highlighted the historical relations between the two countries and discussed ways to strengthen cooperation through holding an economic committee and forum.

In a statement to the press on this occasion, Dacic said that his visit to Morocco is part of strengthening the “very good relations” that the two countries share.

“I am here in Morocco with members of a parliamentary delegation in order to make our contribution to strengthening our very good relations”, he added, praising the strong historical ties between Serbia and Morocco.

The Speaker of the National Assembly of Serbia recalled the role of his country and Morocco in establishing the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), which will celebrate its 60th anniversary in September.

Dacic also reiterated Serbia’s support for the territorial integrity of the Kingdom, saying, “We support the principle of the territorial integrity of Morocco. We are friends and we will continue this solidarity and our mutual support.”

For his part, Bourita highlighted the “development” witnessed by bilateral relations in recent years, “at all levels”. He stressed that Morocco is a “key partner of Serbia in the African continent,” noting that the two parties agreed to convene the economic committee before the end of this year.

He also mentioned that the two ministries had agreed to hold an economic forum during the visit of his Serbian counterpart, Nikola Selakovic last May.

On a different note, Bourita highlighted the role of the Serbian Parliament in promoting solid historical relations that cover all fields.

The minister concluded that “the current relations continue to develop for the benefit of common values ​​and mutual interests between the two countries, especially in defending territorial integrity.”

It is noted that the Speaker of the National Assembly of Serbia was accompanied during this meeting by the Vice-President of the Assembly, Muamer Zukorlic, and the Head of Serbia’s Parliamentary Friendship Group with Morocco, Tamara Pilipovic.
