US Senators Commend HM the King’s ‘Extraordinary’ Regional Leadership

HM the King is a “extraordinary leader in Morocco, in Africa, even in Europe and in the entire region,” stated Republican Senator James Lankford of Oklahoma in a statement to the press.

Lankford emphasized that the Sovereign’s leadership is “a wonderful asset” for advancing regional communication.

In a similar statement, the Democratic senator from Nevada, Jacky Rosen, thanked the Sovereign for the Moroccan “warmth and hospitality,” noting that this visit to the Kingdom was an opportunity to consider how to strengthen the “long-standing partnership” between Rabat and Washington. This was written on the sidelines of the dinner hosted by HM the King in honor of the U.S. congressional delegation.

Rosen stated that the two nations are cooperating to advance their shared objectives of regional peace and development.

The U.S. congressional delegation met with Aziz Akhannouch, the head of state, and Nasser Bourita, the minister of foreign affairs, African cooperation, and Moroccan expatriates, on Friday. The delegation also includes Senators Michael Bennet, Kirsten Gillibrand, Dan Sullivan, Mark Kelly, and Ted Budd. The discussions centered on the unique alliance between Morocco and the United States, which is founded on strength, ambition, and diversity.
