The police scientific laboratory in Casablanca receives the American ambassador

The National Laboratory of Scientific and Technical Police in Casablanca received, on Tuesday, an American diplomatic delegation led by the US ambassador to Rabat, Puneet Talwar.

This reception is part of the support and reinforcement of the opening of the General Directorate of National Security on its external environment, as well as the achievement of distinguished cooperation relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the United States of America in various fields, including that of security.

During this visit, the American ambassador in Rabat was briefed on the latest technologies and mechanisms available at the scientific and technical laboratory of the national police, and was enlightened on the advanced criminal research techniques adopted by the General Directorate of National Security to elucidate the truth of crimes and support the judicial authorities.

On this occasion, the American diplomat congratulated the National Laboratory of Scientific and Technical Police for receiving an international certificate of quality for the fifth consecutive time, a certificate that reflects the existence of technical expertise and contributes to the consolidation of the elements of a fair trial that relies on scientific evidence to prove crimes.

It is worth noting that the General Directorate of National Security inaugurated on 16 May 2021 the new headquarters of the National Forensic Laboratory in Casablanca, which is equipped with the latest technology and devices in the field of DNA sample extraction and analysis, forensic chemistry, as well as the availability of a department for diagnostics using genetic fingerprints, the department of biological expertise and those specialised in drugs, poisons and chemistry. It also has specialised units for information security, maintenance and quality control.
