Emperor of Japan Receives Morocco’s Lower House Speaker

Rabat – The Emperor of Japan Naruhito received, Monday at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo, the Speaker of the House of Representatives Rachid Talbi El Alami, on a working visit to Japan leading a parliamentary delegation.

In this meeting, Talbi El Alami expressed his gratitude and appreciation for Japan’s ongoing assistance to Morocco, reiterating the strong, stable, and rooted connections between the two countries, according to a statement released by the Lower House on Tuesday.

According to the same source, the Speaker of the House of Representatives emphasized that the Kingdom of Morocco, led by the enlightened HM King Mohammed VI, aspires to diversify its partners and share its experiences in order to serve humanity, contribute to its prosperity, strengthen world peace and security, and support development in all of its dimensions.

Talbi El Alami also emphasized the significance of coordination, joint parliamentary action, exchanges of visits, and the sharing of experiences and expertise, noting that his trip to Japan as the leader of a parliamentary delegation aims to support efforts to improve relations, communication, and ongoing dialogue between the two countries’ legislative institutions in order to strengthen bilateral and multilateral cooperation and coordination.

The statement said, “For his part, the Emperor of Japan recalled his trip to Morocco in 1991 with his father Emperor Akihito, reliving his memories in the towns of Rabat, Casablanca, Marrakech, and Fez.

In this regard, the Emperor of Japan has praised HM King Mohammed VI’s initiatives to combat climate change and advance world peace and security.

On the invitation of Speaker of the Japanese House of Representatives Hiroyuki Hosoda, the Speaker of the House of Representatives traveled to Tokyo on Sunday with the legislative delegation for a four-day business visit.

The Moroccan delegation is composed of Mohamed Ghayate, chairman of the parliamentary group of the National Rally of Independents, Ahmed Touizi, chairman of the parliamentary group of the Authenticity and Modernity Party, Nouredine Moudian, chairman of the parliamentary group of the Istiqlal Party, Lahoucine Azougagh, of the same party, Abderrahim Chahid, chairman of the parliamentary group of the Socialist Union of Popular Forces and Chaoui Belassel, chairman of the parliamentary group of the Constitutional Union.
